What to Wear for Family Photos: Coordinating Outfits for the Perfect Portrait
Are you prepping for your family photo session and stuck on what to wear? We all know the struggle is real, especially when you’re the one dressing the whole squad. But fear not, I’ve got your back with some great tips to make you all look fabulous!
Dress the Part: Mom First!
Step one, ladies: it’s all about YOU. You’ve been the hero organizing this shindig, so pick your outfit first and let everyone else follow your fashion lead. Feel like a queen and get that hair and makeup on point before the chaos of getting everyone else ready begins. Because, let’s be real, you deserve it!
Coordination is Key!
Think color story, not matchy-matchy. I like to dive into Pinterest and search for a color palette that speaks to me. Your family doesn’t need to look like a cookie-cutter version of each other. Embrace individuality while keeping the vibe cohesive. Here’s an image of what I mean! Patricia found a jewel tone color palette that went perfectly with her dress, and pulled together the rest of the family outfits based on those colors!
Textures and Prints, Oh My!
Linen, silk, and flowy dresses are your new BFFs. They love the camera and add movement to your photos. Don’t shy away from prints and colors, but keep them on the smaller side, or minimal for that perfect balance.
Keep it Casual, Keep it Real
Want to capture the real you? Less formal looks can bring out more authenticity. I love the classics… a simple, well fitting denim with a tee always looks good :).
Stay tuned for Part 2 where we’ll dive into some awesome local and online shopping spots and dish on what NOT to wear!
