5 Ways to Prepare Your Child for a Stress-Free Photo Session
As a mom, prepping for a photo session can feel like a Herculean task. We aim for perfection—outfits, hair, attitudes—the whole shebang! But chasing perfection often leads to stress for everyone. Here are five tips to help you chill out and enjoy the process.
Tip #1: Focus on What Matters
It's easy to get caught up in the details and lose sight of the goal: it’s not about perfection, but beautiful memories of your incredible people, right now in this season. Stress shows, and kids can sense it, impacting their mood too.
Tip #2: Trust and Relax
One perk of hiring me is that you can relax. I’ve got your back and will capture your kids in the most authentic, real, and beautiful way, without having to force anything. I’m great at connecting with kids, easing their nerves, and making the session fun. We’ll chat, laugh, and play, so by the end, your little one might not even want to leave. Seriously, it happens all the time!
Tip #3: Embrace the Chaos
Expect your kids to be silly, crazy, or shy—it’s all good! Don’t worry about fixing their mood. I’ll handle it, reading the room to help them warm up or chill out as needed.
Tip #4: Plan Ahead
Give yourself plenty of travel time so you're not stressed about being late. And try not to cram in a full day of activities beforehand. Long days can wear everyone out, and we want those little ones fresh and happy.
Tip #5: Keep Them Fed
A hungry kid is a cranky kid and hangry kids (and parents) aren’t as much fun. Make sure they’ve had their usual meals or snacks. Oh, and a quick boogie and crumb check before we start wouldn’t hurt either. 😉
